Hawk Lapel Microphone with Quick Release™ adapter

The HAWK microphone with push-to-talk button is sensitive to a whisper. The adapter provides a Quick Release™ feature allowing the unit to separate from the radio with out removing the adapter from the radio. The adapter provides a push-to-talk button. The kit comes equipped with the clear acoustic audio tube, right and left medium rubber ear molds and two rubber ear tips.

Great Sound, Comfortability! March 31, 2011

A few colleagues and I went in on a batch of these Hawk microphones a while ago and so far we are all agreed that we made the right choice and I’ll tell you why - First of all the sound quality is top-notch. I didn’t know that an in ear radio piece could sound that good - well now that I have heard the difference of course I could never go back. The second thing is that these units are SUPER comfortable to wear - at the end of a long shift my ears don’t feel tired and sore like they did with my old unit. So I say give the Hawk mic a try and soon you’ll see the difference that a good mic kit can make!!

Outstanding Sound Quality but... March 8, 2011

This looked like the perfect solution to replacing the oversized mic issued with our Motorola XTS 5000 radios.  I ultimately ordered one for each of the members in my unit.  To date...only one survives and barely.  They sound and work GREAT!  They have next to no durability.  The connection cord is too short by about 2 to 3 inches which I suspect is causing the cord to stretch.  The stretching stresses its connection to the radio soon you will loose all sound.  Avg Life Expectancy of this unit is:  6 months or one good snag of the cable as you get out of the car!
